The Intel Fortran Compiler 7.1 delivers optimal performance on all Intel 32-bit processor, including the Pentium 4 and Intel Xeon processors, and the 64-bit Itanium processor and the Itanium 2 processor. It offers improvements to its advanced optimization features, such as vectorization and Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2) for IA32, software pipelining for the Itanium/Itanium 2 architecture, and Interprocedural Optimization and Profile Guided Optimization.
